Jo found herself doing yoga in 2006. She wanted something that would purposely benefit both her mind and body then after hearing all the great things about Bikram yoga, decided that that would do the trick. Soon after starting, Jo felt more relaxed and that any sense of stiffness had melted away. Old injuries felt better, her body felt stronger, and her mind more open. After experiencing all these amazing benefits, Jo wanted to learn even more about the practice and went to the 2007 Teacher Training that was held in Hawaii.

When practicing, Jo loves working on her triangle pose. It was a posture that she had the hardest time with when she first started practicing and it never felt like she was doing it quite right. With some patience and hard work, the challenge the posture brought forth became invigorating. The bigger the challenge, the greater the reward. Jo’s least favourite would have to be rabbit – her spine just doesn’t want her forehead to touch her knees!

Jo works to deliver a fun and energetic classes where she hopes that students can feed off of her energy when they need a boost. Her favourite tip is to concentrate in the postures while relaxing the mind. With that you will find greater strength and balance.

Outside of yoga, Jo enjoys a good meal and time spent shopping. After all the hard work you do in the studio, those are two great things you can do to reward yourself!
