Why I love Bikrams Yoga
I first thought I would try it to lose weight. I signed up to try 3 classes in 1 week. My first class was sooo hot, I was pouring my water over my head. Second class was better. At the end of the third class, I was lying on my mat, cooling down, and a warmth engulfed my whole body and spirit. I felt the yoga bliss. I was calm, and felt an utter happiness.
When I walk through the doors of the yoga studio, I feel happy, since I know what is to come.
The floors are warm, and the room is serene. I often fall asleep on my mat before class, and it normally takes me hours to fall asleep at home.
The teachers are amazing, supportive and helpul. They have helped me in so many ways, in ways that have transcended the yoga class, and into my life. And all they ask in return is honest effort, and an open receptive heart.
I didn’t realize the stress that I used to hold in my body, and face, until they taught me to relax and let go.
I came to Bikrams to lose weight, to look better on the outside. That happened, but I received more than I expected, I feel better from the inside, my yoga journey has just begun.
I have an inner calmness, I can deal with stress more easily.
I sleep better at nights, after taking class that day.
My skin is so soft and clean, I have a yoga glow after class.
I can fit into clothes I haven’t been able to wear in years.
I even bought a bikini to wear at the beach again; it’s been many, many years since I could do that.
My blood pressure has gone down.
When I go to the gym with my husband, I am surprised at how easily I can lift the weights, my lungs are full of oxygen.
